Which is better ATT Uverse (U-Verse) or DIRECTV?

I am currently with DIRECTV and have been for years. Trying to decide if I should go with ATT Uverse and if so, what would I be losing (missing out on) if I choose ATT U-VERSE.|||For many years both ATT U-verse and DirecTV have been providing great entertainment to subscribers through their television services and the products they offer. Both have very attractive pricing and features, but here are some of the differences that may help you make your decision.

Technology:

DirecTV: Smart Dish Installed to your Home or Apartment

ATT: Coaxial cable connected to the node.

Programming and Pricing:

DirecTV: Offers 285 in ultimate program package, With 4 basic programming packages.

ATT: Delivers over 390 Channels, with 6 basic programming packages.

*DirecTV has the main advantage over ATT U-verse though due to their pricing.

Services

DirecTV offers services like Pay-Per-View, video on Demand, A La Carte, Digital phone, customer care, Internet facility (Both DSL and Satellite Internet).

*They are more or less the same, however DirecTV comes out on top because they offer Satellite Internet.

Features:

Both provide features that help subscribers to search programming quickly to see incoming calls with name and number; to lock unsuitable channels from kids; to skip commercials on recorded shows; to pause and rewind live programming.

* Once again DirecTV is one step ahead offering a pioneer feature known as 3D (i.e. Three Dimension movies) DirecTV is the first Satellite TV to add 3D feature among the home entertainment television industry.

In Conclusion it is whatever service offerst the programming and pricing you are looking for. If you visit Connect Your Home, they can help you determine which provider would suit you best. They are a national retailer for both of these products.

The installation is simple, the TV picture quality and features are excellent, the Internet service is better than what I used to have with Comcast cable, and the telephone service is, well, it's AT%26amp;T.

I have two friends who are former DirecTv customers who have also switched to U-Verse. The consensus among all 3 of us is better service for a little less money.

DirecTv may offer you Internet and phone service, but they don't provide it themselves, except for a specialized (and slow) optional direct-to-satellite link. They contract with a 3rd party for DSL and landline phone service, and you may do better by checking that out yourself with your local phone company.
