Can i record ps3 gameplay with a ATT Uverse DVR?

The answer is no, the long answer is --%26gt; To record video gameplay like you see ppl on youtube you will need a HD PVR or some sort of other capturing device like a capture card. There is tons of information on the internet to educate you about this. I would imagine that you need a short cut to get all the information you need. So i suggest you start here http://www.zimbio.com/Gamers+Buzz,+News+鈥?/a>

A real HD PVR will work with or without your computer. A capture card (internal or external) will require the use of your computer. There are many capture cards: Hauppauge, Black Magic, Dazzle, Escap, Ezcap, etc. There is only one real HD PVR. In my explanation I will chat about how to use this HD PVR.

The HD PVR comes with output and input on the rear, seen in this short video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcAygrA-a鈥?/a> You will use those inputs and outputs to connect the HD PVR to your TV and Xbox 360. Let's imagine if you had the newelectronx hdpvr in your house. This is how you would use it.

1. Connect your HDTV or Standard TV to the HD PVR (Tristar mx hd pvr) from the rear. You see the component sockets, those are used to connect to your HDTV. The composite sockets are used to connect to your standard TV. You can also use the composite socket on your HDTV too. But it is recommended that you use the component sockets for better video quality. Connect the component sockets from the rear of the hd pvr (with the free cables provided) to your input component sockets on your HDTV.

2. Next you want to connect your xbox 360, playstation ps3, nintendo wii, or whatever to the rear of the hd pvr. Look on the video you will see the composite input for upconverting video. That is where you will connect the gaming console. Using the cables from your xbox connect the red, yellow, and white cables to input on the rear of the hd pvr.

3. power on your xbox 360, p3, or wii. power on the tristar mx hd pvr

4. press pal / ntsc button on the remote to set your areas tv type

5. if you are using a hdtv then i recommend that you setup the hd pvr. press set up on the remote and set the output of the hd pvr to 1080p for HD (hi-def).

6. press video input, you will see the xbox360, playstation ps3, or wii on the HDTV now

7. press record on the hd pvr

8. start playing your video game like normal and viola it will record every second to the internal hard drive of the hd pvr. with a 1TB hard you can never run out of space. Or you use 250GB hard drive, it works well too. You can also use an external hard drive and connect it to the hd pvr too, but it is not necessary in my opinion.

9. connect your computer, mac, notebook, or laptop to the hdpvr with the cables includes. now get the video off the hd pvr and place it on youtube.

10. if you don't want to place the videos on youtube you can play them directly from the hdpvr. look for the file on the hard drive. it will be named by default with the year, date, and time that you recorded it. you can rename it by pressing the rename button. once you find it press play. it will play your hdtv.

that is pretty much it and how easy it is to record from your xbox 360, playstation ps3, or wii. gameplay recording is fun and addictive, i hope my short explanation can help you out in this cool hobby. good luck!|||The AT%26amp;T U-verse DVR can only record televised programs.|||You sure can honey :DDDDDDDD
