Question related with ATT Uverse?

I m quite curious why the wire that go from the outside of your house to the att uverse modem phone line port consist of only 2 mini wire ( green and white). an example if you look at the RJ45 cable you see red, blue , orange etc....

I asked the technician why he cut the rest of the mini wire inside that RJ45 and leave only 2 mini wire left connect to the modem. He told me 2 mini wire is enough to support TV and internet.

so I m curious why he does that way? and does anyone have that kind of set up like i do?|||It is because from the outside to your modem inside, it is still DSL over a phone line. A phone line still needs just one pair.
